Online Commercial Country Manager (French and Italian/German speaking),
- Central London - £35-45,000 plus bonus
Lokku is seeking an analytical, web-savvy and multi-lingual
Commercial Country Manager to help us develop our business in both new and
developed markets. If you’d like a key commercial role in an
exciting and evolving internet company, and have enthusiasm and
dedication in abundance, then please keep reading.
About Lokku:
Lokku is a thriving on-line search company that specialises in
vertical search engines for classifieds. Founded in 2006, we
launched our first brand, Nestoria, a vertical property search
engine, later that year. Today the service is used by 4 million
people a month, across 8 countries.
The Role:
We are currently consolidating our operations in our established
countries while still broadening our reach into new and emerging
marketplaces, and our Account Manager will play a critical role in
meeting our growth targets. This person will become involved in the
EMEA region as a whole, but their prime responsibility will be to
develop and take ownership of our current client portfolio in France
and Germany or Italy, and to identify new channels in those target
countries that we can expand into.
It is unlikely you will have a ‘typical’ month here!
But if you did, it may require you to:
- Pull together and deliver a financial report for your region to the
senior management of the company, along with a forecast for the next
year
- Negotiate a tricky contract renewal for a key client
- Pitch Nestoria to a potential new big client
- Plan an annual marketing campaign for your countries, offline or
online (SEM, display advertising etc.). You will have to negotiate,
make assumptions, build the forecast and come up with estimates and
costs.
- Conduct ongoing research of our marketplace, identifying new partners
and potential clients and developing a good knowledge of the industry and
our competitors
- Analyse user behaviour to learn more about the needs of our users
- Liaise with our Product Team on both user and client issues and support
them when required
- Identify a mysterious problem on our internal metrics report; work with
the Product and Engineering teams to resolve it
- Manage our interns. You decide whether you need support or not. If so,
you will be managing their workflow, be it for a marketing campaign or
a project shared with the Product and Engineering teams
- Work with the team to decide how to build and change our products; and
how to build and change our company. This role is not just about
business. We welcome proactivity and forward thinking, and are looking
for somebody that can contribute to the company in many ways
- In addition you'll always be thinking of creative ways to improve our
relationships with our clients and grow client revenue.
The Person:
We believe this is a great opportunity for someone who:
- Views the tech, internet and marketing industries as an interest,
not just as a job
- Could be looking to make the transition from a major internet
brand to a much more entrepreneurial environment
- Has some commercial experience, and is looking for a position where
they can take greater ownership over their product as well as its
success
- Thinks and aims big, enjoys autonomy, can take strategic decisions
and is not afraid of challenges.
You may be a brand manager at a retail company wanting
to move into a new industry, or a technical consultant in need of a new challenge,
or a web analyst looking for more responsibility. We are relaxed about your
background; we do ask though that you:
- Have successfully managed and grown a client portfolio
- Are able to communicate fluently in English and French, preferably
with additional language skills in German or Italian
- Have assumed primary responsibility for structuring and executing
major strategic initiatives – developing work plans, gathering and
synthesizing relevant data, leading analyses, and developing final
recommendations
- Have gained experience within the online industry, and understand the
fundamentals of SEO, SEM and how to grow the audience of a website
- Are really good with MS Excel and all sorts of analytics, reports,
metrics and anything that is related to number crunching and business
intelligence
- Are confident working with financial information, and communicating
it to senior members of the Company
- Have a good track record in sales, preferably in an online
environment
- Have experience of negotiating at mid- to top- level within
organisations
- Are excited by the diverse challenge of growing existing profitable
markets, while also launching into new ones
How to Apply:
This is a wonderful opportunity to build a career in international
account management within a friendly close-knit internet company
that offers a successful and expanding service with millions of
unique users throughout the world. If you can offer the skills
outlined above, we absolutely want to hear from you. Please
e-mail your CV, covering note and salary expectations to
account-manager@lokku.com.
