Lokku - Product Intern, India (Paid)
What's this all about?
Read the general info
here. We're looking for an
exceptional new team member to help us establish
Nestoria India.
Who should apply?
Please apply if:
- you are an expert on India.
- You are fluent in Indian English, can read and speak Hindi and ideally several other major Indian languages.
- you're smart, hard working, and a fast learner.
- you're web savvy.
- you get excited about creating an amazing user experience.
- you enjoy working with a passionate and highly international team.
- you have at least 6-8 hours per week for the next three to six months.
- you have communication skills on par with your internet understanding.
- you're in London.
- you have an excellent command of geography, especially Indian geography.
Who should NOT apply?
Please don't apply if:
- you don't deal well with rigorous peer review of your work.
- you don't meet the qualifications listed above.
What sort of time commitment do I need?
At least three months. Ideally longer. See above.
Will this internship make me filthy rich?
No. If it's money you're after go work in the sub-basement of a bank gathering requirements for an obscure back end system that no one will care about.
If you want the chance to work on critical projects, to have a voice in designing complex systems, to have your ideas be valued, and to learn an exceptional amount in a very short period of time then this is the place for you.
Will this internship position me well for future jobs?
Yes. You'll be learning from internet veterans. You'll be working on a very visible project. You'll have your ideas rigorously peer reviewed, and be expected to rigorously review the work of others. You'll work in an international team tackling complex problems. You'll have direct exposure to the company's founders and be able to say "I was there back when...". In short, when a recruiter asks you "Tell me what you did at Lokku." you'll have answers that will blow him away.
If I do well, will my internship turn into a permanent or part-time position?
It's possible. Several of our current team members started as interns.
I don't study Comp Sci. Do I qualify?
We couldn't care less what or where you study, what you look like, or where you are from. If you're smart, hard working, fun to sit next to in an office, and meet the basic requirements defined above you should apply.
Will you pay for my travel to London?
No.
Can you help me get a work permit?
No. You need to be able to work in the UK.
Who will I be working with?
What are the dates of the internship?
We'd like someone to start immediately.
Ok, I get it, this will be hard but interesting work. I'll learn a lot and have real responsibility. That's cool, but will I have fun?
Well, we can't force you. So far we're having a blast.
Nice! So is this internship a good way for me to live in London and party my face off.
No. Apply for this internship if you're serious about building something
you can be proud of. Apply for this internship if you want to learn how
to build internet sites used by millions of people in multiple
countries. Apply for this internship if you want to be able to say that you
were part of a successful internet start-up. These are the things
that need to motivate you. All that being said, we do manage to hit the pub
for a pint or three every so often.
Okay, I'm interested. What's the process from here?
We look forward to hearing from you, just shoot us an email at
